SENTIMENTAL SATURDAY

On Saturday morning I decided to go through Caroline and Carter's closets and remove all the outgrown clothes.  I also put away the pump.  No more breastfeeding for Carter. I didn't realize all this was going to make me cry.  I just cannot believe how fast these babies are growing up.  They need to just SLOW DOWN!!!
I think Caroline caught on that I was feeling a little sad and she went into the bathroom and put a ton of bows and barettes in her hair and tried to make me laugh.  It worked!!!
It may seem a little silly to post this picture, but this lady and I went through a lot together.  Oh the crazy stories I have from pumping at track meets and work.  I could write a book.  Haha.  Bye bye friend.

OCTOGON

Yesterday after work and school we went to the zoo for a preview of the new children's zoo.  On the way home, we were stopped at an intersection and Caroline said, "Look Momma.  It's an ocagon."  I said, an octogon??.  She said, "yes, right there that stop sign."  I was amazed and asked where she learned that.  She said Miss Rebecca taught her at school.  I LOVE that Rebecca is running her class now.  At the end of the week she passes out a sheet of what they learned throughout the week and what they will be learning the next week.  Every week they learn a letter, number, shape, days of the week and months, and a bible story.  I had no idea what she was learning or most likely not learning before.  She also named about 10 things yesterday that start with the letter B.  Thank you God for moving Rebecca to Caroline's class!!!!

CATCHING UP WITH CARTER

This little quiet boy is becoming not so quiet anymore!!!
Here is the latest with Carter:
*- He is saying Mama, Dada, Na na when he's fussy, Baba, and SSSSSSSSSS  like a snake.  It's the cutest thing when he looks right at you and makes these sounds like he's really talking to you.
*- He is still not crawling, but he can move across the entire living room by moving backwards, turning in circles, and rolling.  He's sooo close!!
*- His balance is really improving.  He stands holding on to the ottoman, saucer, or hands for a long time.  He'll even let go with one hand to give you a high five.
*- He is starting to eat some real food now.  He loves his cheese puffs and cookie biscuits.  He gets really messy.  I think he does it intentionally because he loves to be wiped off with a wet towel so much.  He loves to have his face and hands wiped down.  I think most babies hate that part!!!
*- He kisses me all the time :)  I don't even have to initiate it!!!
*- He is now on good terms with the lion!!
Yummmmmmmm!!

CATCHING UP WITH CAROLINE

Caroline just amazes me everyday with what she says and does.  She's such a sweet and funny little thing, but extremely headstrong too.  Here's what's been going on lately with her:
*-She moved into a booster seat this past week.  She really thinks she's a big girl now!!!
*-She says she no longer likes jeans.  (I'm not sure what to do about this one.  She looks way too cute in jeans to not wear them.   Sorry Caroline!!)
*-The other day, she was yelling:  Pickles, you are getting on my nerds!!!
*- The most used word in her vocabulary is WHY.  I wondered when this day would come.  Well, it is here no doubt!!!
*- She is all in to Jeremiah's driver's ed.  When he's driving, she says she misses his truck.  She also wanted to know when he was going to teach her to drive.  I told her when she's 15.  So, the other day in the car, she said she told her teachers about her new penguin toy from McDonald's and then she said, "Oh no, I forgot to tell my teachers that I can't drive yet.  I can't until I'm 15!!!"  I just laughed and said, don't worry I'm sure they know that already.
*- She held Carter's hand this morning and said, "Look mom I'm holding his hand.  Is that nice?"  She makes sure she points out when she's being nice to her brother.
*-Today we were discussing what theme Carter's birthday party should be, and Caroline said trucks.  She said Nanno could make a truck cake.  Then she asked what Papa would make.  We asked back what would he make and she said cookies???  We said noooooooooo!!  Then she said, "Oh he can make the suckers!!!"
*- Last night we were cuddled up on the couch to watch and movie and she hugged me and said, "I like you mom."  That sweet girl!!!
Going to gymnastics.  She loves it!!!!

Trying out her new booster seat.

LATE WEEKEND WRAP-UP

This past weekend wasn't too eventful.  Jeremiah drove all weekend, so it was the babies and me most of the time.  On Saturday, Nanno and Papa took Caroline to a basketball game in Kingfisher and played at the park with Papa, so I got to have some one on one time with Carter.  I took Caroline over to their house and then went on to work where our Parent Resource Center had an Open House.  It was really a nice occasion and good reflection of our school.  We went to hear Tessa do her presentation on kids today.  She did a great job and Carter got to sit on my director Barb's lap the whole time.  We came home and Carter went down for a little nap.  A little while after Jeremiah got home, Caroline came home.  She was so tired!!!  It's amazing how it doesn't even phase her to go somewhere without us!!  It was such a nice day that I had to get Caroline and Carter out for a few pictures.  Sunday was a rough day.  Carter was very uncharacteristically fussy.  He did not nap all day and wanted to be held.  I think he was having some digestive issues.  When Jeremiah got home, I went to Target for some prunes.
Aw.  Runny nose!!

CAROLINE THE NERD!!

Look who found my old bent glasses!!
Her dad said she looked like a nerd.  I think she looks smart!!

BATHTIME

As you can see, these two needed their bath Thursday night.  Caroline had written on herself and poor Carter was looking kind of rough and not feeling too well.  Here they are being silly with their shirts on their
heads pre-bath.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO 2 VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE!!

Yesterday was the birthday for two very amazing people.  Nannie and Grandpa.
Nannie got to spend her birthday in Guatemala.  She is there for a medical mission trip.  She called last night which was a treat because we didn't know if we would get to hear from her.  I know it made Jeremiah feel good to hear from her.  We hope she had a wonderful day and we miss her. Even though she's already far away from us, it seems like she's really far away now.  We can't wait to hear all about her trip!!!
Yesterday would have also been Grandpa Starkey's 99th birthday.  We lost him in June right after Carter was born.  What a sweet and generous man he was.  I miss him!!!
I'll post some old favorite pictures later.
