I originally meant to post this in March, but here it is months later. It was a LONG season for a 4 year old. It lasted March - June. At first she wasn't too thrilled about playing, but she ended up liking it. Just look at some of her practice outfits. Caroline was quite the character during games. Some of the mothers said that they loved the games because they couldn't wait to see what she would do next. She loved playing in the dirt when she was in the outfield. She was excellent at chasing the ball. In fact, several times, she would be playing 3rd base and end up in right field after chasing a ball that was hit nowhere near her. She got tackled once by a giant of a girl. (We all wanted to see her birth certificate!!) Here is a recap of her season.
HER GLOVE. I THINK SHE'S QUITE PROUD OF IT!!
PRACTICING AT HOME *(Notice: the practice outfits)
She told me she was actually going outside to practice like this.
At least she changed shoes!!
FIRST SCRIMMAGE
Right after this picture was taken, I told her to run to home harder than she ever had before. She ran really fast and then it seemed that her upper body got ahead of her feet as she came close to home plate. The poor thing crashed. I was afraid she would be done and after just the first scrimmage. Like I said, she wasn't too crazy about playing at first.
UNIFORMS ARE IN!!!
Can you get any cuter????
GAMES..................
First time to say good game. So cute!!!! I'm pretty sure I was tearing up at this.
Pretty darn precious!!
Aunt Kaci got to watch her play!!
The closer in she played, the better she payed attention. In fact, she would run for the ball before it was even hit. Watch below. She walked off mad when she didn't catch it.
When she played short stop, she was right in between the two fastest girls on the team who were a couple of years older. She discovered that her only chance to catch a ball would be to run toward the ball before it was ever hit. It worked a couple of times.
Baywatch run!!!!
TIME FOR TEAM PICTURES..............
They were all more worried about the Caroline's splinter than the picture. Poor photographer!!
We are so proud of you for trying so hard and learning so much!! We loved watching you and your Daddy loved being your coach!!
