TRIP: DAY 4 THE 4TH OF JULY

The 4th was a great day.  We woke up and went to church first.  It was wonderful to be back in the church where Caroline was baptized 2 1/2 years ago.  About half way into the service, Carter couldn't be still any longer so the girls took him to the baby room.  Before that, his nuk had fallen and rolled up to the front of the church in front of all the pews.  Oops!!!  I wonder if John noticed it there during his sermon.  After church we went to the Butterfly for brunch and then went back to the house and the girls played dress up.  Caroline was in heaven!!!   Around dark we headed to Rochelle High School to watch the fireworks.

LAST WEEK RECAP: 2 WEEKS OF SUMMER LEFT

I need to get caught up.  There is so much fun stuff to do and fun people to see in the summer.  So, here is how our last week went...............
MONDAY:  Zoo day and powder day.   I already posted this.
TUESDAY: Caroline and I went to the pool for most of the day.
WEDNESDAY: Caroline and I met Jessica and Brody at White Water.   Brody was so cute.
THURSDAY:  Trip and Meliah came over to play for a while and to get their picture taken.  Too bad they wouldn't even stand together.  Trip wanted to follow Caroline everywhere.  She's quite the hit with all the younger men!!!!
That evening we went out to dinner for stop #3 on the 2010 Tasting Tour.  We had a long wait because it's been such a popular place and ended up staying outside to eat.  It was lots of fun except for thinking of Carter being sick at home.

Oops.  Trip got a little rough with the dollhouse.  Time to go outside.

 FRIDAY-SUNDAY:  Poor Carter was sick with a virus all weekend.  He was pretty miserable and we didn't get much sleep.

A bottle of nail polish was busted on the tile and Carter got into it while I was trying to figure out how to clean it up.

Ice for both kids within an hour of each other.  Carter got his fingers shut in a door and Caroline bumped the front of her head and looked like she had a uni brow for a few days.

More Band-aids of course!!

We love to go out and check out the sunset every night.

COOKING DINNER

One evening last week I was cooking dinner and just as I was about to call Jeremiah to come and get Carter out of the kitchen, Caroline came in all fancied up and included Carter in the play.  They ended up having the best time and so did I.  It also made me feel badly that I'm so quick to have them out of the kitchen while I'm cooking.  (plus football is about to start, so it's either that or no cooking)  All I need to do is make it quality playtime.  I know one day I'm going to miss having them little like this, and all they want is to be near me.  My sweet babies!!!!

CHICAGO ZOO PART 4: MONKEYS AND OTHERS

Here is the last post of the zoo animals.  The monkey exhibit was amazing.  I don't know if the pictures capture it all , but here it is. 

MIXED IN WITH THE MONKEYS WAS THIS HIPPO AND ANTEATER.  IT WAS GETTING SOMETHING OUT OF THE HIPPO'S EARS!!
