CRAZY TIME................WAY BEHIND

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.  That's how I feel right now.  I'm working on my National Board portfolio which is due March, 31.  There is so much to do and so little time to do it.  I'm trying to squeeze in all the work I can.  That puts me way behind on everything right now.  We're just trying to keep up.  I really want to keep up with this blog so I don't leave anything out.  Mimsy, Nannie, and everyone else, I will try my best to do as many updates as I can.  They may be short posts, but I'll try my best to get the important stuff in.  Poor Carter has strep throat.  Off to work!!!

SNOW STORM #1 2011...........BRR!!!!!!

We just finished up Snow Storm #2 (a couple of weeks ago now), but I still need to update the first one.  Last Monday evening we got Caroline's gymnastics class in, got home, and then the storm hit that evening.  It was crazy because it was thundering and snowing/sleeting at the same time.  I think that's called a thundersnow.  We were out of school the rest of the week.  I got really lazy and stayed in pjs most of the time as did everyone else.  We did lots of snacking too.  (I'm going to need to start working out soon) I did not get out of the house from Monday evening until Saturday.  I think that's a record for me.  We got about 12 inches (which was nothing compared to north of us) with really high snow drifts and strong winds.  So, I guess it was considered a blizzard.  We enjoyed our time off, but it sure is work being home that much........constant dishes filling up the sink and picking up messes.
On Tuesday we took about 30 minutes getting ready to go out and play in the snow.  Well, we only lasted about 2 minutes.  It was frigid and windy.  (the wind chill was about 20 below)   So, we came in and had tortilla soup and cookies.
All dressed up to play outside.................
From our front door.

The igloo
Sneaking some snow..

Pickles went from hating the snow to loving it!!
Not so sure..........

On the grill.
Loved it so much that he wanted in and out ALL day.
I think Papa was bored so on the 2nd day after the storm he came over to shovel.  CRAZY. Even though we're grateful.
WHAT A TEAM

Drift with the igloo.  Before shoveling.
The pluses of the storm were good eating, lots of family time, and lots of messes.  Haha!!

CAROLINE AND ALL THE CUTENESS!!!

The other night, I asked Caroline if she liked my new haircut.  She held my face with her two hands, looked into my eyes and said, "Oh Momma.  You look so cute."  Oh my goodness did my heart melt!!!  I went on to tell her that made my day and how sweet it was.  Then she said, "Momma, I think next Monday I will tell Coach Carrie that she is cute."  (her gymnastics and dance coach) I said that she would love that.  Since then, I've overheard her saying it to others.  The other night, Miss Brittany came by for a visit.  They were all playing in the other room and out of nowhere, I heard Caroline say, "Miss Brittany, you are so cute."  Last night we went to Mallory's homecoming and as we were leaving Caroline said, "Nanno, you are really cute."  I don't think Nanno knew what to say.  Then she turned to Papa and said, "Oh Papa, you are so cute too."  Today Amanda told me that Caroline was telling her that she was cute last night at the game.  This little girl just gets more and more precious everyday.

Caroline.  I don't think you could be any cuter!!!

These 2 love these wheat buns.  I constantly catch them sneaking into them.  This was a few weeks ago.  See what happens when they are waiting on me to start their bath water.  NO PATIENCE!!!
Carter loves the camera all of a sudden!!  He's saying "cheese!"

THE BEST DAY.............

In my head I'm singing Taylor Swift's The Best Day Song.............The date today is Saturday Jan. 28th, but this may be posted a little later than that because I'm still playing catch up.  Today was the 2nd day in a row with weather that hit around 80.  I don't think I saw a cloud in the sky all day.  We woke up to Carter getting out of his bed and coming in with us.  (Caroline had spent the night with Nanno and Papa)  We got out of bed around 8am and knew it was going to be a beautiful day.  The zoo was tempting, but I knew it would be crazy and Caroline wasn't home yet. Jeremiah, Carter, and I got around and headed to Braums for a quick breakfast.  Then we went to the Golden Razor to get Carter his first haircut.  He was great!!  He cried a little and then the barbress (it was a barber shop and she was a female, so is that what she's called??) got him a sucker.  Then he was fine.  He just let her do her thing while he watched the barber next to him cut a man's hair.  The man's son was there and they were talking how he had his hair cut there as a little boy.  Jeremiah calls this the Midwest City mafia barber shop.  Haha!!  He looked so handsome after and he even got a special certificate and his back curls sealed in an envelope.  Here are the pics.
The before................

Ready to go.  Terry welcoming Carter.

Now he's happy.  The sucker sure helped!!
Look at all that hair.
Watching the guys.

Oops.  I don't think he liked the water.
Almost done.
I love the little spikes.

When we got home, Carter was exhausted.  About the time he went down for his nap, Papa brought Caroline home.  When she got home, I took her to Barnes and Noble for some Momma/daughter time.  She loves that place and she has no idea how happy that makes me!!  The pictures below show part of the fun, but the rest of the fun occurred on the drive home.  We put up the sunroof and sang to Taylor Swift and Sugarland all the way home.  Oh how I love her little happy voice!!! When we got home, we had dinner then watched Despicable Me.  Carter discovered that he could get out of his bed and I had to lay him down ten times before he got the hint.  (I really don't think I'm exaggerating here).  Caroline crashed before the movie was over.  Jeremiah and I watched the rest.  Now I am blogging and he's playing PS3 with his buddy Chris.  What a perfect day it was.   I am so blessed!!!

BARNES AND NOBLE PICS.....................

You know I was thrilled when I found her looking at this!!
I loved these books when I was little!!
She wanted all the purple characters........... Coincidence or not???  Haha!!
She made me get up on the story time stage and read to her.

See!!!

Now it's her turn on stage.  She wondered why nobody came over to sit on the benches and listen.
How cute is she!!!
Of course we had to end the visit with a cupcake.  Yum!!
