VEGAS RECAP

I'll try to keep this as short as possible because I ramble so much once I start a post!!!  I was a little skeptical about going to Vegas for our first getaway, with the two of us since our honeymoon.  I was worn out and just wanted to relax somewhere warm by a pool.  Jeremiah was set on Vegas.  Since he had been working so hard at driver's ed the previous month, I decided to give it a try.  It ended up being a great time.  I would definitely return, though maybe not right away (just because it was not very restful:  way too much to see!!!)

DAY 1:  We left for Vegas, had a layover in Denver and arrived in Vegas at 7:00pm.  The flight from Denver to Vegas was the 2nd worst one I have ever been on.  The winds were really high and we felt it on our desent into Vegas.  When we arrived at the hotel, we were a little overwhelmed by the magnitude of our hotel.  We really didn't know what to do.. I started to get home sick (well, baby sick I mean).  I probably cried a little wondering how to be away for so long, but decided to make the best of it.  We ate dinner at one of the Wolfgang Puck's restaraunts, walked around the hotel and casino, and went to bed.

DAY 2:  I had read a blog on Vegas and it said that this place call Terribles had a really good and cheap breakfast buffet with champagne.  We walked FOREVER to get to it and it ended up being pretty terrible, but it was cheap.  We stayed there after and played a little video poker and won $100 off of it.  That was our most successful gambling experience of the trip.  We walked to the Hard Rock hotel, Planet Hollywood, Bellagio, Ceasar's Palace, and the Mirage.  They were all amazing.  By the end of the day we were exhausted and had dinner at the Venetian food court.  It was not so good.    I knew the hotels would be extremely elaborate, but I had not idea how enormous they are and how far you have to walk to see even a few of them.
What a name!!!
Winning at video poker!!
Caesear's Palace
Can't remember which one this was.  It was the check in area.  Pretty amazing.

DAY 3:  We started out the day by going to the Wynn for a visit.  It was amazing.  This had to be my favorite overall hotel.  We decided to have a buffet breakfast here.  It was the most amazing buffet I've ever seen.  I'm taking into account the quality of food and the size.  It was so good, I took pictures of my food.  Haha.   After the ginormous breakfast, we went next door to see the Encor and then went across the street to the Fashion Show Mall to look around.  We returned to our hotel where I decided to go to the pool and Jeremiah played a little craps.  Bad luck.  He lost the video poker money and I got a sunburn.  We went to dinner at Maggionao's at the mall.  I know it's a chain, but it was a tie for the best meal/dining experience we had there.  The food was great and so was our server Carlos.  We then went to the casino and piano bar next door at the Palazzo.  It was fun, but not winnings.

DAY 4:  (aka last day)  We had a fairly cheap breakfast at the hotel food court this morning.  It was pretty good.  After breakfast, we stood in the half price show line for about an hour.  We decided to see a show later that night.  By this time , most of them were sold out, but we decided on Cirque de Soleil Mystere.  After that, we walked around the Fashion Show Mall (the only mall you could walk to and afford)  We got Carter a swimsuit from the Jack and Jane store and Caroline a birthmonth Hello Kitty doll.  By the time we were done there, it was time for the journey to New York New York to try to catch Happy Hour at an Irish pub there with some really good deals.  Too bad we got there right as it ended.  We ended up eating at the ESPN Zone.  It was a pretty neat place, but too bad there were no good B-ball games to watch.  I did have the best portabello mushroom sandwich.  We then headed back toward the Bellagio to catch the fountain show on the way to our Cirque show.  The fountain show was great.  While we stood there waiting, we realized we could touch whoever was leaning against the wall and shock them.  It must have been the currents from the sound.  The show we saw was set to Viva Las Vegas.  It was so neat!!!  Then we went on to Treasure Island for the big show.  It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!   I can't belive the work and physical condition these performers are in.  The timing with the live music and the performance blew me away.  After the show, I lost my money in video poker and Jeremiah lost his in craps.  Too bad!!!  We went back to the room and packed and were in the lobby at 4:30 am to check out.   WHAT A FUN TRIP IT WAS!!!   I couldn't wait though to get home and see our babies!!!!
Notice the red skin!!!!
